Dear Sleepless Friend,
Do you feel like you’re burning the candle at both ends? Poor sleep quality is an epidemic that no one is talking about. It has been shown contribute to accelerated aging, high cortisol, weight gain, depression, and countless other undesirable conditions.
Yet the majority of us don’t get enough sleep on a regular basis – or worse, wake up tired even after a full night’s sleep.I hear these kinds of statements from my patients all the time:
“I used to always sleep through the night, but lately I wake up several times each night, and sometimes can’t get back to sleep for hours.”
“I sleep 8 or more hours per night but I’m still exhausted when I wake up.”
“I am so tired at night but somehow can’t fall asleep for hours. The lack of sleep is starting to interfere with my life, but nothing seems to help.”
Not surprisingly, women are far more likely than men to struggle with sleep... although the problem is pretty rampant among both genders.
